It's easier to manage your courses online using the Catalyst Web Tools features added this year, and more enhancements are planned. Ever wonder about the large satellite dish perched atop Kane Hall? UWTV recently installed a de-icing device to keep the satellite signal strong when snow falls, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the university’s communication infrastructure on campus and beyond. The Aerospace Engineering Research Building dish kept UWTV up and running during installation.
UWTV engineers are working with national and international vendors, consultants, and UW Information Technology to bring next-generation online video managing and publishing to UW. Once its video library of 2,000 media objects is migrated, UWTV will schedule information sessions for departments with extensive video holdings looking for robust online solutions.
