UW Technology Recharge Fee Remains the Same for FY 2012

Towers The UW Technology Recharge Fee for FY 2012 will remain at the current level of $52.68 per month per capita for all academic and administrative units. The fee supplements central funds to help pay for critical information technology services delivered by UW Information Technology (UW-IT). Over a dozen basic services are included, such as wired and Wi-Fi networks, UW NetID access management, administrative systems infrastructure, and Catalyst Web Tools. It also includes renewal of the Microsoft Campus License Agreement for FY 2012.

E-RESOURCE: Online Access to the New York Times at No Charge

Nyt Although the New York Times began charging for unlimited access to online content through its Web site and mobile applications in March, you can access it at no charge through resources provided by the UW Libraries. These e-resources include Factiva, LexisNexis, ProQuest Historical Newspapers, and ProQuest Digital Microfilm, all described on the News subject guide.

New Voicemail System for UW Seattle: Are You Affected?

Telephone A new voicemail system is coming to UW Seattle for faculty and staff. Type the last five digits of your phone number (with no dash) in the voicemail checker and follow the instructions provided. If you are affected, you need to set up your new voice mailbox by the May 11 implementation, when incoming messages will be delivered to your new voice mailbox. After June 10, your previous voice mailbox will no longer be accessible. See Q&A for details and feature highlights.

Paws UW scientists from more than 30 research programs share their breakthroughs at a special Pacific Science Center weekend April 8-10. Take the family to learn about making waves, the search for tsunamis, UW research in creating designs for artificial fingers, and more. Paws-on Science features hands-on activities, with special appearances by Harry the Husky and the Husky Marching Band.
