UW Graduate School Accepts Theses, Dissertations Online

Folders_60UW graduate students now submit their theses and dissertations online rather than by paper, saving money and streamlining administrative steps. After a pilot in the fall, submissions began Spring Quarter 2012 and eliminated the required $25 binding fee, plus additional costs for printing and microfilming. Wordpress60The new UW Blogs Network makes it easy for UW faculty and staff to create and use a UW-branded WordPress blog that is accessible publicly. Just activate this UW NetID resource and log in to create your blog and posts without worrying about how it all works. UW-IT will keep the features up-to-date and provide UW-specific templates and plug-ins that let you track visits, add a contact form, and feature content from Twitter. Learn more.

UserVoice Lets Web Developers Prioritize UW Web Services Online

Vote UserVoice is an online tool that allows you to submit and prioritize ideas for UW Web services development. Web services, a key technology allowing standards-based access to business processes and data, has enabled the m.UW iPhone application, advanced course search, Web grades collection, addition of student photos to MyUW class lists, and access to UW budget, vendor, and organization data.

ROA Resource Oriented Architecture (ROA) is an important new paradigm for delivering data and automating processes because it enables UW developers to create Web pages and applications using formerly unavailable institutional data.
