Wi-Fi Upgrade a Priority for UW Students

Wireless3 Showing the importance UW students place on being connected, the Student Technology Fee Committee recently awarded $1 million to a three-year UW wireless network (Wi-Fi) upgrade project at UW Seattle. The funds will speed Wi-Fi upgrades to student-centered spaces such as libraries, and expand outdoor coverage. Upgrades are needed to support the latest device technology and provide greater capacity and improved coverage for the 66,000 people who use the UW wireless network each month.

Wi-Fi Service for Patients and Visitors at UWMC and Harborview

Wireless3 A free wireless Patients and Visitors service is now in place at UW Medical Center (UWMC) and Harborview Medical Center (HMC). No special UW login or password is required. This  is available in all UWMC and HMC locations with Wi-Fi coverage. Thanks to bandwidth limits on this service, the performance of the staff network is not expected to be affected. This two-year collaborative effort involved staff from UWMC, HMC, UW Medicine IT, and UW-IT. See IT Connect for other UW wireless information.
